Thanks to Mrs. Johnson for planning and organizing our party and thanks to all of the moms and dads who came to visit and help! We had a terrific time!
Second grade worked hard to learn lines, songs, and dances for our performances of our program Holiday Traditions. They performed on Tuesday afternoon for the school and then at night for parents and guests. Both performances were fabulous! On Thursday we were excited to have our Cultural Luncheon. 2nd graders brought food that represents their family's cultural heritage. The food was yummy! Thanks to all of the parents who sent or brought food and helped serve and clean up. We appreciate your support! We started off our last day before winter break with our end of the nine weeks assembly. We were excited to hear Pinkerton's own choir singing holiday songs. Then awards were presented. 2A is proud of our Global Citizens for the 2nd nine weeks. And then....it was party time! We were excited to have tasty food for our party. The class personalized a very cute snowman ornament. And last we had a rowdy time exchanging our puzzles in a right/left exchange game. Thanks to Mrs. Johnson for planning and organizing our party and thanks to all of the moms and dads who came to visit and help! We had a terrific time! I would also like to thank all of the families who sent cards and goodies to me. I appreciate all of your thoughtful wishes and appreciate each of you. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. Please stay safe in your travels and I will see you all in the new year! Merry Christmas! I love these sweet faces!

We started out the week in the holiday spirit with the CMS West band and choir coming to visit and perform. It was exciting to see all of the former Pinkerton learners back in the house! On Tuesday the drama club performed for the school. Learners work on a "secret" project. We love when our grandparents come to read to us! Thanks to Mr. Johnson for coming on Friday afternoon! We loved his book choices. We are looking forward to a fun and busy week next week!
We launched our third IB unit this past week by looking at examples of holiday traditions of several different cultures. Learners did a gallery walk and added questions and comments to the photographs. We discussed similarities and differences in celebrations. Then we enjoyed a traditional hot juice drink from Medieval England. Later in the week, learners chose a cultural celebration to research. We worked in groups to collect information.
Library is always enjoyable! A new learner joined our class! Welcome! Star of the Week and birthday boy! A great ending to our week with our awesome guest reader!
Thanks, Mrs. Schuller! |
