This week we kicked off our first IB unit, How We Express Ourselves. During this unit, learners will explore the ways in which we reflect on, extend and enjoy our creativity. Our launch activity started with reading the book Not A Box. In this book, a rabbit imagines the many different things that a box could be other than just a box. Learners used their creativity to turn their own boxes into unique objects.

The first three days of school are in the books! We have had a great week of learning all about each other. Learners use a class word search to determine which classmates they need to meet and learn about. We also participated in several activities that helped us begin to build our classroom community. We kicked off our math for the year by reviewing ways to represent numbers. It is always fun to take a little break. We always enjoy our playground! Brain breaks in the class are also fun! We ended the week with an inquiry lesson using Skittles. It is always fun when your inquiry involves candy!
Thanks to everyone who was able to come to Meet the Teacher last night!
