The butterflies from our last unit on life cycles finally popped out of their chrysalises. We observed them for a couple of days in our classroom and then finally released them into our school garden. Recently we launched our new IB unit called Who We Are. In this unit, we will explore human body systems and the the importance of good health. We began our unit by doing a gallery walk to took at pictures of human organs and talk about what each one is and what it does inside our body. In groups, learners traced a classmate and cut out the body shape. As we learn about each body system, we add organs to our paper body models. Learners use a stethoscope to listen to their beating hearts. Tuesday night was Culture and Arts Night at Pinkerton. I loved seeing everyone's creative work and sampling all of the delicious foods! Have a great long weekend!

Last week we had a great time at CISD at the Ballpark Night. It was great to see of our Student of Character (in the red Texas shirt) there, as well as some other friends from our class. The Pinky Hustle was held the next night. We had a nice turn out. The BBQ was tasty and the cupcakes were out of this world! Thanks to everyone who came out to support Pinkerton! The weather has been beautiful and some of the girls in our class have been very creative on the playground. Here is our last Star of the Week for the year!
