Morning Work Stations by S.A. Everyday we do morning work stations. Some work stations are ipad, legos, art, puzzles, writing, playdough and blog. Right now I am doing blog. All of the stations are fun. I like to blog and when we do puzzles we get to watch the butterfly and the beetles. Some time ago Mrs.Denton took out the playdough because the playdough was getting mixed. After some time some of the kids in my class started doing math on the ipad. |
Human Body by S.A. and J.O.
We are learning about the human body. First we are learning about the nervous system. We traced one of our classmates on a big paper and we cut it out. We are going to draw the human body parts on the big paper. The nervous system parts are the brain, nerves and spinal cord. The brain sends messages to the spinal cord which sends those messages to the nerves that go to the rest of the body.

Trees by Meela
Yesterday a company called Southern Champion Tray came to our school and talked to second grade about a program called TICCIT. They told us about trees into cartons and cartons into trees and the paper industry.
TICCIT by A.R. and J.K.
Southern Champion Tray is a company that makes cardboard out of trees. TICCIT means trees in to cartons and cartons in to trees. They also make other boxes. They have a printer bigger than our cafeteria. They have a huge paper cutter. The company has a machine that can fit more than 100 people. Every time they cut one tree down they plant five new trees. There is a tree farm that cuts down a ready stack and then plants a new one.

At the Art Show by C.R.
Last Thursday I was selling bracelets and bags at the Art Show. The bracelets and bags were from a poor country called Nicaragua. We will send the money we earn to the people in Nicaragua.
